The 2007 Wimborne 10 Mile - Rain rain & more rain - The first time in the ten years the W10 has bad weather - yet again - the highest number of entries and finishers(487) and another new mens record broken by Williard Chinhanhu (Poole Runners) taking 4 secs off the record with a time of 51:37. Second place was Kairn Stone (Newham & Essex Beagles) at 51:58 followed by James Baker (Chichester Runners & AC) at a time of 54:07

First lady was Amy Chalk (Bristol & West AC) at 58:33 who also broke the course record of 60:57 which has stood from the very first Wimborne 10 in 1998.

Poole Runners took the Mens team prize with the Ladies team prize going to Torbay AAC.

Running conditions – well what can we say our luck ran out on the weather front - but we had more entries and finishers - which did include the South West Inter Counties Championship which added some 60+ runners plus 70+ late entries. Again we had some good comments regarding the marshalls who still kept smiling through the cold and rain and the much appreciated tea and cakes at the end. Plenty of compliments all-round on our 10 mile course.

Thanks to all who helped and participated including the town cryer. Also thanks again for the loud bang! It was heard from a mile away! and big cloud of smoke from the muskett men at the start.

Plenty of compliments on our W10 mile course, maybe we will have even more entries in 2008 - as we did this year! Race limit was nearly reached so get those entries in early. See you there...
