The 2008 Wimborne 10 Mile - We were in favour with the weather again this year - after last years downpour - we thought it might have dampened the spirits plus we also had to limit the race to 500 - because of carparking and construction at QE. We still had 468 Wimborne 10 finishers. Winner this year is Nigel Leighton (Votwo.co.uk) at 52:45 - a few secs. of his 2006 time. Second place was George Miller (Poole Runners) at 52:47 followed by Willard Chinhanhu at a time of 53:22 who was last years record breaking winner.

First lady was Melanie Ellis (Shaftesbury Barnet) at 1:01:13

Poole Runners took the Mens team prize with the Ladies team prize going to Littledown Harriers.

Running conditions – well what can we say our luck back in on the weather front - Again we had some good comments regarding the marshalls who still kept smiling and the much appreciated tea and cakes at the end. Plenty of compliments all-round on our 10 mile course.
